Calculate Stamp Duty Payable for Renting Residential Property - Condo, HDB, Landed

Stamp Duty payable for renting a property (commonly paid by tenant in Singapore ) is applicable only where total annual rent exceeds $1,000.

Stamp Duty payable is dependant on the period of the lease term:
For Lease term not exceeding 1 year - $1 for every $250 or part thereof of annual rent

For Lease term exceeding 1 year but not exceeding 3 years - $2 for every $250 or part thereof of annual rent

for Lease term exceeding 3 years - $4 for every $250 or part thereof of annual rent

Example:
Monthly rent = $2000, Lease term = 2 years
Annual rent = $2000 x 12 months = $24,000
Stamp Duty = ($24,000/$250) x $2 = 96 x $2 = $192
